Pastry - Sweet Short Paste
Preparation time: 10-15 minutes Quantity: Makes 1lb mix
Ingredients
450g/1 6 oz plain flour
200g/ 8 oz butter
50g /2 oz caster sugar
1 whole medium egg
100 ml milk
pinch salt
Method
- Sift the flour
- Crumb/rub in the butter
- Add the sugar and salt
- Blend in the egg and milk
- Mix to a smooth dough
- Rest in the fridge, covered before use
