Teriyaki Mackerel

Works well with all Oily fish and some meats. Try chicken Teriyaki on bamboo skewers, rolled in sesame seeds.

Preparation time: marinating time.   Quantity: Serves 4   Cooking time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

4 mackerel fillets
2 tablespoon dark soy sauce
2 tablespoon Sake wine or dry wine
2 tablespoon mirin
4 twists pepper
pinch salt

Method

  • Place the fillets flesh side up in a dish
  • Mix the rest of the ingredients
  • Pour on 1/2- reserve the other 1/2 to serve as a dip
  • Marinate for several hours or overnight
  • Grill the mackerel fillets till firm -3-5 minutes
  • Serve with the Teriyaki dip
