A 10 minute dinner dish. The tofu could be replaced with Quorn.

Preparation time: 5 minutes   Quantity: serves 4   Cooking time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

1 packet Tofu / 8 large cubes
2 – 3 tablespoons cornflour
2 – 3 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons sake or dry white wine
2 tablespoons mirin or sherry
2 tablespoons caster sugar or clear honey
2 tablespoons soy or tamari sauce

Method

  • Cut the tofu in to 8 large cubes
  • Dust well with cornflour
  • Meanwhile heat up the oil until very hot
  • Fry of the tofu both sides until golden brown
  • Remove from the pan
  • Fry of the sliced garlic until golden but not browned
  • In the pan add the rest of the ingredients
  • Reduce down a little until sticky
  • Add the tofu and cover with the teriyaki glaze
  • Serve
