Tofu Teriyaki
Preparation time: 5 minutes Quantity: serves 4 Cooking time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
1 packet Tofu / 8 large cubes
2 – 3 tablespoons cornflour
2 – 3 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons sake or dry white wine
2 tablespoons mirin or sherry
2 tablespoons caster sugar or clear honey
2 tablespoons soy or tamari sauce
Method
- Cut the tofu in to 8 large cubes
- Dust well with cornflour
- Meanwhile heat up the oil until very hot
- Fry of the tofu both sides until golden brown
- Remove from the pan
- Fry of the sliced garlic until golden but not browned
- In the pan add the rest of the ingredients
- Reduce down a little until sticky
- Add the tofu and cover with the teriyaki glaze
- Serve
