Deep Fried King Prawns - Tapas
These are fun foods, a big bowl full with a couple of dips. You can even make up a load and freeze for several months till needed. try spicing up the crumbs with cayenne pepper or mixing equal quantities of parmesan cheese for a cheesy prawn popper.
Try the same method for king prawns and serve with CookeryClubs pineapple salsa and a few dressed mixed leaves for lovely starter.

Ingredients
12 cooked king prawns
1/2 fresh lemon
seasoning
Bread crumb mix -
4 tablespoons flour
1 beaten egg and 2 tablespoons milk
5 - 6 tablespoons natural crumbs
1 tablespoon grated parmasan (op)
Method
- Place the prawns in a bowl
- Season well and squeeze with 1/2 fresh lemon – mix and leave while you prepare the crumb mix
- Make up the bread crumb mix in 3 bowls -1st with flour, 2nd with egg and milk 3rd with crumbs
- Dip the prawns in the flour first, egg mix next shaking of any excess egg –then pat into the crumbs till well coated
- Deep fry in hot oil – until golden brown
- Serve with a garlic or lemon mayonnaise
