Greek Baked Figs

A delightful way to cook figs - serve with a dollop of Greek yogurt.

Preparation time: 5 minutes   Quantity: Makes 1 - foil wrap per person   Cooking time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

2 fresh figs
1 square of tin foil (12 inch square)
1 teaspoon clear honey
1/4 fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon dark brown sugar
1 pinch cinnamon
1 pinch mixed spice
1 teaspoon ground almonds

Method

  • Score a cross in the top of each fig, going 1/2 way down
  • Mix the other ingredients together
  • Put the figs in the middle of a piece of tin foil
  • Spoon the other ingredients on top
  • Fold over the sides and tuck over to make a parcel- not too tight you need to create steam inside
  • Bake in a preheated oven gas 6/210*c/420*f - for 15 minutes
  • Serve in the foil with a big blob of Greek yogurt
