Oatcakes
What better than a hostess that makes the cheese biscuits as well -
Try variations like, black pepper (1/2-1 teaspoon), fine chopped herbs-like -lavender, rosemary, thyme (2 teaspoons each) or even parmesan (1 tablespoon grated).
Preparation time: 15 minutes Quantity: Makes 8 - 12 biscuits Cooking time: 12-15 minutes
Ingredients
200g/ 8 oz fine oatmeal
2 tablespoons virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt/or salt
7-8 tablespoons boiling hot water
Method
- Mix the oats, oil and salt together
- Pour over enough water to bring the mix to a smooth dough
- While still hot -
- Roll on to a floured table, to 1/4cm/1/8 inch thick
- Cook on a greased tray for 12-15 minutes, on a middle shelf. -Gas 4/180*c
