Stir-fry Brussels with Crispy Bacon Crumbs and Cheese
Everyone will love this tasty vegetable dish and will forget their school dinner days of soggy sprouts! I’ve even converted Sprout haters with this dish.
Preparation time: 10 minutes Quantity: 6 sprouts per portion Cooking time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
5-6 sprouts per person or 5 portions to the pound
1 rasher of bacon per 2-3 portions
a few tablespoons of breadcrumbs
30g grated cheese per portion
Method
- Trim off bottoms of sprouts remove a few outer leaves and shred
- Sauté in hot oil rashers of bacon until brown then add breadcrumbs
- Cook until golden brown
- Pour in to a dish, leave aside.
- Stir fry the Brussels in the same pan with a little extra oil for a few mins
- Add a touch of water to help them steam fry
- When they are cooked put in to a ovenproof dish, add the crunchy bacon mix and grated cheese.
- Bake in the oven till the cheese has melted and turned golden
