Pan Fried Swordfish in a Japaneese Marinade
Swordfish is so succulent and tender when just cooked and works well with so many other flavours, although on the tad expensive side - well worth the experience.
Preparation time: 5 minutes Quantity: Serves one Cooking time: 4 - 6 minutes
Ingredients
Per Person, multiply as needed -
1 swordfish steak approx. 5 - 6 oz /125g -150g - boned and skinned
Marinade -
1 teaspoon dark soy
1 teaspoon mirin or sake
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
pinch caster sugar
Method
- Mix the ingredients for the marinade together
- Leave the fish to soak in the mix for 20 -30 minutes
- Heat up a pan with a touch of oil
- Pan fry each side for 2 - 3 minutes, the fish should be only just cooked, preferably slightly under
- Serve
