Pan-fried Turkey with Temari
If you want something quick, fresh, tasty and healthy - try simply pan-frying turkey fillets or steaks cut from the breast, they are very reasonably priced lower in fat than chicken and take just minutes to cook - fast food!
Tamari is a wheat free soya sauce so you could use light soya instead
Preparation time: Just a minute Quantity: Serves 1 Cooking time: 8 minutes
Ingredients
1 turkey escallop / slice / piece approx. 7 - 8 oz / 175g - 200g
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 tablespoon tamari sauce
a twist or two of pepper
Method
- Heat the oil in a frying pan or use a char-grill with just a brush of oil
- When the pan is hot gently lay the turkey away from you (so the oil doesn’t splash you)
- Cook for 3 - 4 minutes on each side without prodding too much! Until cooked - the meat will feel firm to the touch
- Spoon on the tamari and turn the turkey over to soak in to the tamari, when the tamari starts to reduce to much and before it catches (burns) take of the heat
- Season with the pepper and serve
