Sashimi - Raw Japanese Fish
Use very fresh fish for Sashimi. Simply eat with chop sticks or a knife and fork dipping the slices of fish in to one or more of the accompaniments. Tamari is a vegan, gluten free variety of soya sauce. Wasabi and pickled ginger can be found in most deli’s, ethnic stores and supermarkets.
Preparation time: 5 minutes Quantity: Serves 1 +
Ingredients
Per Portion, multiply as needed-
100g / 4 oz fresh tuna or salmon
2 teaspoons of Tamari or light soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon wasabi paste
3 - 4 slices of pickled ginger
Method
- Slice the very fresh fish, very thinly
- Lay on to a serving plate
- Serve with a small bowl of tamari or soy and
- Some wasabi and ginger on the side
