Ingredients

3 dessert spoons of cooking oil
2 cups of chapattis flour (8 oz)
1/4 teaspoon of salt

Method

  • Mix oil and flour, add hot water very gradually to make a nice hard dough let it rest for about 10 15 minutes
  • Break off into little balls, roll with hands until flat, roll out thinly, (these are thicker than chapattis)
  • Heat the sunflower oil till very hot and drop the rolled puri into the oil
  • Prod with the back of a spoon until puri has risen, turn them over to cook on the second side
  • Put them on kitchen paper to drain the excess oil
