Indonesian Spiced Seafood Egg Noodles - Bami gorang

Great for people on the go who want quick,easy and extremely tasty fresh meals.

Preparation time: 20 minutes   Quantity: Serves 4   Cooking time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

1 red chilli
pinch salt
300g/ 8 oz egg noodles
100g/ 4 oz prawns
50g/ 2 oz cooked mussels
50g/ 2 oz lightly cooked squid
(or use a deli-seafood mix)
1 medium onion -thinly sliced
2 garlic cloves-sliced
1 carrot- fine strips
1 teaspoon shrimp paste
seasoning

Method

  • Blend/grind the chilli with salt-till well squashed
  • Pour boiling water on to the noodles and leave to soak for 5 minutes- drain and leave aside
  • In a frying pan/wok heat the oil
  • Add the onion till soft, add the garlic, chilli paste and carrot.- cook for a minute or two until soft
  • Add everything else- heat till warm and season to taste
