Home Made Healthy Muesli

No sugar, no salt but packed full of healthy flavours, just pour on the milk, sweeten it up with a spoon full of honey or maple syrup or bind in yogurt.

Ingredients

450g / 1 lb. oats
100g / 4 oz wheat bran
50g / 2 oz wheat germ
75g / 3 oz sultanas
75g / 3 oz raisins
75g / 3 oz finely chopped dates
30g / 1 oz flaked un-sweetened coconut
30g / 1 oz pumpkin seeds
30g / 1 oz sunflower seeds
30g / 1 oz chopped brazil nuts
30g / 1 oz sliced almonds

Method

  • Simply mix all the ingredients together
  • Variations - change the dried fruit, nuts and seeds to your own choices
  • For a crunchier muesli - lightly toast the oats and cool before mixing
  • For a ready to eat muesli for a group of healthy breakfasters - make up half the mix, add 2 - 3 grated peeled apple and mix with natural yogurt and serve with a spoonful of honey
