Harissa Grilled Lamb Chops

A pungent spiced dish that compliments the robust flavour of Lamb and is grilled to maximise crispiness.

Preparation time: 20 minutes   Quantity: Serves 4   Cooking time: 20 or so minutes

Ingredients

Harissa paste -
1/2 teaspoon ground caraway
1/2 tablespoon cayenne
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 clove garlic
1/4 teaspoon salt
4-5 twists of pepper
1/2 tablespoons sunflower oil
1/4 -1/2 dried red chilli- ground
1/4 fresh lemon juice
2 teaspoon tomato puree

8 lamb chops approx. 3- 4 oz each
4 tablespoons Greek yogurt

Method

  • Whizz/ process all the ingredients for the paste together
  • Use just over half the mix to marinate the lamb chops, by rubbing well in and leaving for a minimum of 30 minutes but preferably overnight
  • Grill the lamb chops under a hot grill - till crispy and brown on each side but still pink in the middle approx. 3-4 minutes on each side
  • Meanwhile heat the rest of the Harissa paste in a frying pan to release all the flavours
  • Cool slightly
  • Mix the paste in to the Greek yogurt and serve with the Lamb
