English Omelette

Omelettes should be soft in the middle and shouldn’t bounce!

Preparation time: 5 minutes   Quantity: Serves 1   Cooking time: 6-8 minutes

Ingredients

3 eggs - beaten
butter or olive oil
cheese (optional)

Method

  • Crack the eggs in to a jug
  • Heat a little butter or oil in a small omelette pan
  • Add the eggs when the butter bubbles, stir round till nearly set
  • Sprinkle with cheese (optional)
  • Season with salt and pepper
  • Fold over (1/2 moon shape) and cook only for a few minutes more
  • An omelette should feel like a puffed out cheek!!! not an old boot!!!
