Replace the whiskey for your favourite tipple, I like rum but that’s another story. Serve warm over ice-cream or with an apple tart.

Ingredients

100 ml/4 fl oz water
100 ml/4 f loz whiskey
75g/ 3 oz caster sugar
100g/ 4 oz raisins -pre soaked in whiskey

Method

  • Soak the raisins in the whiskey (optional)
  • Add the whiskey, water and sugar to a pan
  • Boil to a syrup for 3-4 minutes
  • Add the raisins
  • Chill and serve
