Simple Smoked Mackerel Pate

So simple it’s almost unbelievable - serve with crispy pitta breads and some dressed leaves.

Preparation time: 5 minutes   Quantity: 4 small pots - 2 large  

Ingredients

200 g / 1 pot low fat cream cheese
2 small smoked mackerel fillets - skinned
a few twists or a pinch of black pepper

Variations -
Add 1 teaspoon of creamed horseradish for a spiced version

Tip - no need to add salt both the fish and the cream cheese contain sufficient levels for seasoning.

Method

  • Simply mix the cream cheese with the mackerel and a few twists of pepper until just blended, not too smooth, still with a little texture
