A traditional firm, cake like biscuit - great to make with children. Keep in an airtight container -will keep for several days - try split with butter and jam.

Ingredients

200g/ 8 oz self raising flour
100g/ 4 oz butter-soft diced
100g/ 4 oz caster/granulated sugar
100g/ 4 oz mixed dried fruit chopped/raisins etc
1 large whole egg
5 tablespoons any milk

Method

  • Simply mix everything together till well incorporated
  • Dollop spoonfuls on to a greased tray
  • Bake in a preheated oven gas 5-6/200*c/400*f for around 15 minutes-till firm and golden
