Chocolate Brownie Cake

A very basic easy and cheaper variety of that American classic.

Preparation time: 15 minutes   Quantity: Serves 16   Cooking time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

300g/ 10 oz plain flour
420g/ 14 oz dark brown sugar
120g/ 4 oz cocoa
240g/ 8 oz soft butter
4 whole eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla essence
300g/ 10 oz nuts (walnuts, pecans, macadamia, coconut etc.)

Method

  • Add all ingredients in to a big bowl and beat well together
  • Pour in to a greased tray and bake in a medium pre heated oven for 30 minutes or until a skewer comes away clean
  • This is a basic recipe and you can make it more exciting by adding real chopped up chocolate, white chocolate chips or replace some of the sugar for chopped prunes for a healthier fruitier brownie


Recommended cake tin- approx. size 10 – 12 inch
