Ingredients

To make this Apple, Date and Prune Chutney you will need the following ingredients:
250g / 9 oz cooking apples - peeled and diced
250g / 9 oz dates - chopped
250g / 9 oz prunes - chopped
2 cm grated ginger
1 clove of garlic - crushed
300 ml red or white wine vinegar
250g / 9 oz dark brown sugar
A pinch of allspice

Methods

  1. To make Apple, Date and Prune Chutney
    • Place all the ingredients in a large saucepan
    • Bring to a simmer and stir well
    • Simmer for 40 - 50 minutes stirring occasionally
    • Cook until the mixture is thick and syrupy
    • Spoon in to clean sterilized jars
Preparation time (duration): 10 -15 minutes
Cooking time (duration): 50 minutes
