Sweet, Hot and Sour Chilli Paneer

Ingredients

To make Sweet, Hot and Sour Paneer's you will need the following ingredients:
2 teaspoon cornflour
2 teaspoon plain flour
A pinch of chilli powder
A pinch of turmeric
250g/ 8 oz paneer (Indian cheese)
3 tablespoons oil
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds (optional)
1 red chili -finely sliced
1 clove garlic-crushed
2 teaspoon caster sugar
2 teaspoon malt vinegar
2 tablespoons fresh tomato sauce

Methods

  1. To make these Sweet, Hot and Sour Paneers:
    • Whisk the dry flours and spices together
    • Toss in the paneer, diced
    • Heat up the half the oil and fry the paneer till golden on all sides
    • Take out and leave aside in the same pan add the remaining oil
    • Fry of the mustard seeds, chilli and garlic
    • Cook for a few seconds to release flavour
    • Add the rest of the ingredients and bring to the boil
    • Put the paneer in to the sauce, heat through and serve
