Ingredients

To make this Layered Apple Crumble recipe you will need the following ingredients:
90g/ 3 oz plain flour
90g/ 3 oz oats
1 teaspoon cinnamon
90g/ 3 oz butter 90g/ 3 oz demerara sugar
2 soured apples, cored peeled and sliced thinly
2 tablespoon lemon marmalade 1 lemon juice

Methods

  1. To make Apple and Oat Betty
    • Rub butter in to the oats, flour and spices
    • Stir in the sugar . Mix the apples, juice and marmalade together
    • Layer ½ the apples in an ovenproof dish, top with ½ the crumble mix and repeat
    • Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour until the apples are soft and the crumble turns golden
    • Recommend using a deep baking/ serving dish 6-7 inch or 7 inch tin
