In this Healthier Creamy Mash Recipe using yogurt makes the potatoes creamy with out the use of cream or butter. Use as a base for mustard mash by adding 1 tablespoon course grain mustard or Parmesan Mash by stirring in 2-3 tablespoons of fresh grated parmesan in to the mash mix.

Ingredients

To make this Healthier Creamy Mash Recipe you will need the following ingredients:
450g/ 1 lb. potatoes -peeled and large diced
2 - 3 tablespoons set yoghurt
2 - 3 tablespoons milk
Salt and pepper

Methods

    • To make this Healthier Creamy Mash Recipe
    • Boil the potatoes in salted water until cooked (place the potatoes, cut in to quarters or larger ones cut in to eighths - in a large pan well coated in cold water, bring to the boil then simmer for 35-45 minutes till soft, but not mushy)
    • Drain, leave in pan- take back to a low flame and heat gently -to dry out (1-2 minutes)
    • Add milk - warm through for a minute -take of heat
    • Stir in yogurt . Season well and mash

Cooking time (duration): 35 - 45 minutes
