Ingredients

To make this Malt Tea loaf Recipe you will need the following ingredients:
8 tablespoons malt extract
100 ml/4 fl oz hot strong tea
175g/ 7 oz self raising wholemeal flour
75g/3 oz raisins
75g/ 3 oz sultanas
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon mixed spice

Methods

    • To make this Malt Tea loaf Recipe
    • Mix the tea with the malt . Leave to cool
    • Sift the wholemeal flour, put the wholegrain bits back in
    • Mix in the egg, tea mix and everything else
    • Stir till well mixed
    • Spoon in to a greased loaf tin
    • Bake in a preheated oven gas 3/160*c/325*f - for 1-1&1/4 hours -or until cooked in the middle
    • Cool . Wrap up and mature for 3 days, somewhere cool
    • Recommended cake tin- approx. size 2lb loaf tin or 6- 7 inch
