Summary:

This is an extremely yummy pickle made out of dates a sure treat to pickle lovers.Its tangy taste sends your taste buds crazy.Very famous in my coastal town mombasa. You can even bottle it and keep in the refrigerator and it can stay for months.

Goes very well with any type of rice(veg pilau, meat pilau, biriani etc) or any meaty or veg dish.

Ingredients

1 cup dates
8 green chillies
1/2 teaspoon pounded garlic
1 tablespoon pounded onions
Juice of two big lemons
Salt to taste
 

Methods

    • Remove seeds from the dates and mash well
    • Grind chillies and add the mashed dates into a fine paste
    • Put the mixture into a bowl and add onions, garlic, lemon juice and salt. Mix well
