Ingredients

To make Boreks -Turkish Filo Cheese Pastries you will need the following ingredients:
100g grated mozzarella cheese (block)
100g grated feta -crumbled/grated
1 medium egg
1 tablespoon chopped flat parsley
1 tablespoon chives-chopped
1 tablespoon mint -chopped
1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
Seasoning
1 packet of filo pastry
20g melted butter

Methods

    • To make Boreks -Turkish Filo Cheese Pastries
    • Mix the cheese and herbs together, add the egg, nutmeg and seasoning
    • Cut a double layer strip -approx - 2-3 inch wide by 10-12 inch long
    • Butter the edges, lay a teaspoon of mix in the top
    • Fold down to make triangle shapes- to use up the length of filo
    • Repeat to use up all the mix
    • Deep fry till golden on both sides or bake in a hot oven for 12 minutes till golden
Preparation time (duration): 30 minutes
Cooking time (duration): 10-15 minutes
Number of servings (yield): Makes 4-6 portions = approx 20 boreks
