I came up with this Christmas Chutney Recipe for a Christmas course with the cheese board and cold roast turkey in mind but it would be great any time of the year.

Ingredients

To make this Christmas Chutney Recipe you will need the following ingredients:
60 g / 2 oz apples - peeled and diced
60 g / 2 oz dried dates - chopped
60 g / 2 oz dried prunes - chopped
60 g / 2 oz dried cranberries
2 cm fresh grated ginger
1 clove garlic - crushed
150 ml red wine vinegar
120 g dark or light brown sugar
A pinch of all spice
A pinch of cinnamon

Methods

    • To make this Christmas Chutney Recipe
    • Place all the ingredients in a thick bottomed pan
    • Simmer with a lid on for 30 minutes
    • Remove the lid and cook for a further 5 minutes or so until the mix is thick and sticky
    • Spoon in to a sterilized jar, top with a wax disc (optional) and store in a cool dark place until needed
