Puree Swede, Carrot and Cumin

This is a really simple dish that the whole family will enjoy and makes a change from the usual suspects.

Preparation time: 15 minutes Quantity: Serves 4 Cooking time: 30-40 minutes

Ingredients

1 swede peeled and diced

 4-5 carrots peeled and diced

cumin

a pinch of cumin seeds (optional)

knob of butter

a few tablespoons of cream

Method

  • Boil the swede and carrots then simmer in salted water till very soft
  • Drain, place back on a low flame and add ground cumin and cumin seeds to dry a little and cook out
  • Add a knob of butter and cream
  • Take off the heat and mash well
  • Season, taste and serve
