Braised Celery

Braised Celery is a really quick, tasty and saucy dish suitable to serve as a different vegetable dish with the Sunday roast.

Preparation time: 10 minutes Quantity: Serves 4 Cooking time: 45 - 50 minutes

Ingredients

To make Braised Celery you will need;

8 sticks celery

1/3 pint/ 200 ml stock- chicken or vegetable splash white wine, sherry or marsala salt and pepper

2 cloves of crushed garlic

Method

  • To make Braised Celery simpl trim and cut celery stalks in to 3 –4 inch pieces place in an ovenproof dish
  • Cover with stock and wine season well and add crushed garlic
  • Cover with tin foil and bake in a hot oven for 45 –50 minutes till soft
